Casey, Crime Photographer - Old Time Radio

Casey, Crime Photographer

This show aired on radio under a few different titles, including Flash Gun Casey, Casey, Press Photographer, and finally, Casey, Crime Photographer. Originally popularized as a pulp fiction character in short stories published in Black Mask, Casey later appeared on radio, television, comic books, in theater and film between the 1930's and 1960's. It aired almost daily in various timeslots on CBS Radio between July 7, 1943 and Nov. 16. 1950.

Casey was an accomplished crime photographer for the Morning Express who was, at times, motivated by one of his photographs to solve crimes. He recounted his adventures at his favorite haunt, The Blue Note Cafe, a jazz club where the music was fine and the company congenial.

In 1949, Marvel Comics partnered with the show to produce 4 comics featuring Casey, and then the show moved to television in April, 1951 until its final episode on June 15, 1952.
